Editorial Code of Ethics
At Patagonia Wellness and our website Fit-and-Well.com, we abide by the Society of Professional Journalists Code of Ethics, from which we take the principles listed below. These principles guide our actions:
- Verify the information and its accuracy before publishing it.
- Be careful not to misrepresent the facts. Do not oversimplify.
- Update the information as new facts arise.
- Identify the sources clearly so that the public can judge their reliability and motivations.
- Encourage an open exchange of ideas that includes different points of view.
- Advocacy and commentary should be clearly labeled as such.
- Do not distort facts or context. Never plagiarize. Attribute sources in a proper manner.
- Serve the public.
- Avoid conflicts of interest whether these are real or perceived, they may damage credibility.
- Don't accept favors, gifts, free products or services, special treatment, or entertainment that may raise concerns about our integrity, independence, or impartiality.
- Do not grant favored treatment to sponsors, advertisers, special interests or, donors.
- Clearly differentiate news from advertising. "Advertorials", advertisements and sponsored content should be prominently labeled.
- Be Accountable and Transparent.
- Acknowledge mistakes and correct them promptly and prominently. Explain corrections and clarifications carefully and clearly.
- Treat all subjects and stories with respect, empathy, and integrity.
No AI written content
Added 29.Dec.2024
We adhere to the recommendations on the responsible use of generative artificial intelligence tools by authors, reviewers, and editors which are summarized below:
- Generative AI tools should not be listed as authors on papers. Only persons can be morally responsible and accountable.
- Authors should be transparent about their use of generative AI, and editors should have access to tools and strategies for ensuring authors' transparency.
- Editors and reviewers should not rely solely on generative AI to review submitted papers.
- Editors retain final responsibility in selecting reviewers and should exercise active oversight of that task. Final responsibility for the editing of a paper lies with human authors and editors.
All of our written content is created and written by human beings and not by AI tools.
